Highway Star Wins Go for Wand Handicap at Aqueduct Racetrack
The $250,000 G3 Go for Wand Handicap went down Saturday, December 3 at Aqueduct Racetrack in South Ozone Park, New York. Fillies and mares three years old and upward took to Aqueduct's dirt track and raced one mile. Chester and Mary Broman's homebred, 7-1 shot Highway Star prevailed thanks to a good stretch run - by just a nose over 5-2 second choice High Ridge Road who settled for second and 9-2 third betting choice Wonder Gal who was another neck back in third. Heavy 3-5 favorite Bar of Gold, who won her last race by 18 lengths over a sloppy track, checked 2 1/4 lengths behind in fourth. Cayman Croc, Camille Claudel, and Burn Control completed the order of finish.
