Las Vegas, NV - The $400,000 Grade 1 Beldame Invitational Stakes went down at Belmont Park on Saturday, September 28 and featured a showdown between two of the best females in the country. It was Princess of Sylmar, the 2-1 second choice, facing older combatants for the first time that emerged victorious over Royal Delta who was sent off at 1-5 odds by 1 1/2 lengths - her fourth straight Grade 1 triumph. Princess of Sylmar, in turn earned an automatic berth into the Breeders' Cup Distaff. Centring finished third with And Why Not and Roman Invader completing the order of finish. Lady Cohiba scratched.
