Havana Wins Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park
Las Vegas, NV - The $500,000 Grade 1 Foxwoods Champagne Stakes went down at Belmont Park Saturday, October 5. Todd Pletcher trained Havana recorded the neck victory as the 5-2 third choice in the one mile test for two year olds while 9-5 favorite Honor Code finished second. Havana, in turn earned an automatic bid into the Breeders' Cup Juvenile November 2. Ride On Curlin finished third while Casiguapo, Intense Holiday, Long On Value, Strong Mandate, Grand Arrival and Debt Ceiling completed the order of finish.
