Minorette Wins Belmont Oaks Invitational Stakes at Belmont Park
Las Vegas, NV - The $1 million Grade 1 Belmont Oaks Invitational, formerly the Garden City Stakes went down on Belmont Park turf in Elmont, New York on Saturday, July 6. It was Chad Brown trained Minorette that posted the upset for her first North American win when she was sent off at 6-1 odds. Minorette earned an automatic berth into the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf with the win. 9-1 shot Sea Queen finished second while Summer Solo checked in with a third place finish at 34-1 odds. Xcellence, Wonderfully, Goldy Espony, 5-2 favorite Room Service, Flying Jib, Rosalind, and Recepta completed the order of finish. My Conquestadory scratched.
