Flintshire Wins Manhattan Stakes at Belmont Park
The $1 million Grade 1 Woodford Reserve Manhattan Stakes went down at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York on Saturday, June 11 as part on the Belmont Stakes undercard. Horses four years old and upward took to Belmont Park's Inner Turf Track and raced 1 1/4 miles. Juddmonte Farms' 3-5 favorite Flintshire displayed the form he's demonstrated on various tracks around the world and prevailed by an impressive 1 3/4 lengths. Co-6-1 second choice Ironicus finished second in the field of nine while 13-1 shot World Approval got in for third. Grand Tito was fourth and was followed by Divisidero, Big Blue Kitten, Triple Threat (FR), Slumber (GB) and Oathkeeper to complete the order of finish. Take the Stand (ARG) and Wake Forest (GER) scratched.
