It was Kettle Corn that ruined the story book return of Paynter to graded stakes action after his life threatening illness. 7-2 second choice Kettle Corn finished a half length ahead of the 3-5 favorite and 122 pound highweight Paynter while 34-1 shot Batti Man finished a very impressive third. Chief Havoc was fourth, followed by Liaison and Clubhouse Ride.
