Egg Drop Wins Yellow Ribbon Handicap at Del Mar Park
Las Vegas, NV - The final race on a busy weekend of graded stakes action went down at Del Mar on Monday, September 2 when the $150,000 Grade 2 Yellow Ribbon Handicap was contested. Second choice Egg Drop came up with her first stakes win in somewhat controversial fashion when Egg Drop and Appealing came together down the stretch. Stewards reviewed the incident and determined there was no foul. 34-1 shot Appealing finished a very good second while My Gi Gi 1 1/2 lengths back in third. 123-pound highweight Halo Dolly settled for fourth, a neck behind while Customer Base, Closing Range, Quiet Oasis, A Jealous Woman, and Royal Empress completed the order of finish. In the Stars scratched.
