Las Vegas, NV - The $1 million Grade 1 Pacific Classic was contested at Del Mar in Southern California on Saturday, August 22 - a 1 1/4 mile test for horses three years old and upward. It was two-time Eclipse Award winner and 2-1 favorite Beholder that dominated in her first start against males prevailing by an incredible 8 1/4 lengths. 7-1 shot Catch a Flight got up for second, and Red Vine was a length back in third at 9-2 odds. Hoppertunity finished fourth, followed by Imperative, Hard Aces, Class Leader, Bailoutbobby, second choice Bayern, and Midnight Storm to complete the order of finish.
