Lord Nelson Wins Bing Crosby Stakes at Monmouth Park
The $300,000 Grade 1 Bing Crosby Stakes was run a Del Mar racetrack in the great state of California on Sunday, July 31 - a six furlong dirt test for horses three years old and upward. Spendthrift Farm's even money race favorite Lord Nelson dominated for his second straight Grade 1 score - this time by a relatively easy four lengths. Indexical, the second longest shot on the board at 42-1 finished a good second while Alsvid was another 3 1/4 lengths back in third at 7-1 odds. Kaabraaj finished fourth followed by Home Run Kitten, Justin Squared, Dream Saturday, and 5-2 second betting choice Subtle Indian to complete the order of finish. Bluegrass Bronco scratched.
