Point Piper Wins Longacres Mile Handicap at Emerald Downs

The $200,000 Grade 3 Longacres Mile Handicap went down Sunday, August 14 at Emerald Downs in Auburn, Washington - a one mile dirt test for horses three years olds and upward. Jerry Hollendorfer trained Point Piper who was sent off at 5-1 odds was best on the day emerging in the field of 11 by 4 3/4 lengths in track record time. Stablemate Cyrus Alexander finished a good second also at 5-1 while 6-5 favorite OB Harbour had his four race win streak snapped in third. 4-1 second choice Alert Bay was fourth followed by defending two-time champion Stryker Phd, Sammy Mandeville, Dedicated to You, Star Student, Sabado Alegre (CHI), Indian Brut and Prime Engine to complete the order of finish.
