The $150,000 Grade 3 Palm Beach Stakes was run at Gulfstream Park on Sunday, March 3. 2-1 second choice Rydilluc was mighty impressive in running away from the 11 horse field by 3 1/2 lengths. Trainer Gary Contessa suddenly has an interesting choice to make - take Rydilluc off turf and onto the "Road to the Kentucky Derby" or keep trotting his colt out in turf events after his first stakes win. 17-10 favorite Charming Kitten got up for second, a neck ahead of Reporting Star who finished a good third. Quinzieme Monarque was fourth, followed by Dewey Square, who was forced to steady on the far turn and weakened. Then came Amen Kitten, Dad'z Laugh, Holiday Star, Saturday Special, Summit County, and Squall King.
