Lea Wins Hal's Hope Stakes at Gulfstream Park
Las Vegas, NV - The $100,000 Grade 3 Hal's Hope Stakes took place at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida on Saturday, January 11. 6-1 shot Lea emerged a relatively easy winner - by 3 1/4 lengths, giving his jockey Luis Saez his 1,000th career win. Jackson Bend outfinished Neck 'n Neck by a half-length for second. Uncaptured finished fourth while Purple Egg, Csaba - the 3-1 favorite, Goodtimehadbyall, Simmstown and Strike One completed the order of finish. Nikki's Sandcastle scratched to run the Fort Lauderdale Stakes.
