Kaigun Wins Pan American Stakes at Gulfstream Park
Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida was the scene of the $200,000 Grade 2 Pan American Stakes on Saturday, April 2 - a 1 1/2 mile race for horses four years old and upward. Kaigun, who was sent off at 5-2 odds broke a string of four straight runner-up finishes and prevailed in the field of nine in comeback fashion. German bred Wake Forest finished second at 5-2 on the morning line while 8-5 favorite Grand Tito got up for third. St. Albans Boy was fourth while Jay Gatsby, Xaverian, Hello Don Julio, O'Prado Ole and Seeking Alpha completed the order of finish. Montclair (IRE) and Twilight Eclipse scratched.
