The $150,000 G3 British Columbia Derby was run Saturday, September 9 at Hastings Racecourse in Vancouver, British Columbia - a 1 1/8-mile dirt test for horses three years old and upward. It turned out to be quite a race with 7-2 second choice Chief Know It All prevailing in a tough three-horse battle in the stretch. 4-1 third choice Trooper John finished just a nose back in second with 2-1 favorite Riser getting in for a close third. More Power to Him was fourth in the field of 10 with Double Bear, A. P. Zona, Driller, Handsome Chef, Hunters Appeal and Parsimonious completing the order of finish.
