Albert Stall trained Departing came up with the 3 1/4 length victory as the 9-5 favorite followed by 23-1 shot Fordubai, who survived an inquiry after the race, and 9-1 Siete de Oros. Abraham, Street Spice, For Greater Glory, Narvaez, Dewey Square, Ground Transport, Bells Big Bernie, Show Some Magic, Stormin Monarcho, Taken by the Storm, and Dakota Mac completed the order of finish. Departing unfortunately earned zero points on the Road to the Kentucky Derby but a start in the Preakness could follow his impressive win.
