Lovely Maria Wins Ashland Stakes at Keeneland
Las Vegas, NV - The $500,000 Grade 1 Central Bank Ashland Stakes went down at Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky on Saturday, April 4 - a 1 1/16 mile test for three year old fillies. Brereton Jones' Lovely Maria posted her first stakes score by 3 1/4 lengths at 9-5 odds in the field of seven and in turn earned 100 qualifying points toward the Kentucky Oaks May 2. Angela Renee finished second with 17-1 longshot Silverpocketsfull got up for a very good third. Lassofthemohicans was fourth, followed by West Coast Belle, Temper Mint Patty, and Peace and War, to complete the order of finish.
