Noble Bird Wins Hagyard Fayette Stakes at Keeneland
The final afternoon of racing during Keeneland's fall meet was highlighted by the $200,000 G2 Hagyard Fayette Stakes on Saturday, October 29 - a 1 1/8 mile dirt test for horses three years old and upward. Inconsistent, John Oxley owned, even money favorite Noble Bird proved once again that when running right he is tough to beat. Noble Bird easily prevailed Saturday by 5 3/4 lengths in track record time. 4-1 second choice Divining Rod finished second in the field eight while 11-1 shot Hawaakom rallied from last to get in for third. Mr. Z was fourth and was followed by Prayer for Relief, Iron Fist, Chocopologie, and Kasaqui to complete the order of finish.
