Zipessa Wins Dr. James Penny Memorial Stakes at Parx Racing

Fillies and mares three years old and upward were featured as they took to Parx's turf track and raced 1 1/16 miles. Empyrean Stables' 5-2 third choice Zipessa posted her first graded stakes score in gate-to-wire fashion - by a solid two lengths. Grade 2 winner and 2-1 second betting choice Tuttipaesi rallied for second while Tiger Ride finished third in the field of seven at 4-1 odds. 8-5 favorite Tammy the Torpedo faded to fourth while Devilwenttogeorgia, Serious Happiness, and Keystone Kelly completed the order of finish. Inside Out and Navajo Kitten scratched.
