Las Vegas, NV - The $250,000 Grade 3 Iowa Derby was contested Saturday, June 29 from a busy Prairie Meadows Racetrack & Casino. Longshot Looking Cool edged Betweenhereandcool by a neck in the field of seven with a well-timed stretch drive to claim victory at 17-1 odds. Bashaar, who broke a few lengths behind the field and trailed early, rallied for third, 1 1/4 lengths behind Betweenhereandcool while favorite Our Double Play held fourth. Second choice Manando was next followed by Kale's Kourage and Stormdriver.
