Bent On Bourbon Wins Iowa Derby at Prairie Meadows
Las Vegas, NV - The $250,000 Grade 3 Iowa Derby was contested Saturday, June 27 at Prairie Meadows Racetrack & Casino in Altoona, Iowa - a 1 1/16 mile test for three year olds. 4-1 third choice Bent On Bourbon posted his first stakes win over second choice Allied Air Raid and Private Prospect who go up for third. Longshot Alabaster easily beat out the tired 7-5 favorite Hillbilly Royalty for fourth while Paid Admission, Lucky Stranger, Quality Bird, Phenomenal Phoenix and Fusaichi Flame completed the order of finish.
