Coalport Wins John B. Connally Turf Cup Stakes at Gulfstream Park
Las Vegas, NV - The $200,000 Grade 3 Connally Turf Cup was contested at Sam Houston Race Park in Houston, Texas on Saturday, January 24. Coalport, a 6-year-old son of Kitten's Joy, owned and bred by Kenneth and Sarah Ramsey posted his third straight convincing win in the field of eight as the race favorite - by 3 1/4 lengths in gate-to-wire fashion over Trade Creek. Daddy's Kid rallied for third with Forest Boyce, Dreams Cut Short, Benwill, Fleet Mitchy, Michael's Gabriel, Devons Iron Giant and Bim Bam completing the order of finish.
