Goldencents Wins Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile at Santa Anita Park
Las Vegas, NV - The third Friday Breeders' Cup races featured some of the best milers on the planet when the $1 million Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile went down. Second choice Doug O`Neill trained Goldencents emerged victorious in the field of 11 from the far outside post by an impressive 2 3/4 lengths over Golden Ticket who rallied from tenth to finish second and Team Valor International and Richard Santulli's Brujo de Olleros who finished third. Verrazano, the 5-2 favorite, was another 1 1/2 lengths back in fourth followed by Hymn Book, Fed Biz, Pants On Fire, Alpha, Broadway Empire and Centralinteligence. Taptowne and Easter Gift scratched.
