Ria Antonia Wins Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies at Santa Anita Park
Las Vegas, NV - The $2 million Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies went down at Santa Anita as the first of the host of BC races Saturday, November 2. The race ended in somewhat controversial fashion. She`s a Tiger who crossed the line first was DQ`d when stewards reversed the order of finish and rewarded 32-1 shot Ria Antonia the win after it was determined that She`s a Tiger bumped the eventual winner in the stretch. Rosalind finished third followed by 5-2 favorite Sweet Reason, Artemis Agrotera, Scandalous Act, designer Legs, Untapable and Concave. Meanwhile, Secret Compass broke down leaving the three-furlong marker and suffered a lateral condylar fracture and had to be euthanized.
