Stellar Wind Wins Santa Ysabel Stakes at Gulfstream Park
Las Vegas, NV - Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California played host to the $100,000 Grade 3 Santa Ysabel Stakes on Saturday, February 28 - a 1 1/16 mile test for three year old fillies. Virginia-bred, 7-1 shot Stellar Wind emerged victorious in her stakes debut for trainer John Sadler by 2 3/4 lengths over 2-1 Jerry Hollendorfer trained, favorite Light the City who finished second. They were followed by two more Jerry Hollendorfer pupils - Glory finished third and Achiever's Legacy wound up fourth. Rainha Da Bateria-who came into the race as the only graded-stakes winner and Rattataptap completed the order of finish. Danette and Curlin's Fox were scratches.
