Spendthrift Farm's 2-1 second choice Lord Nelson posted the victory in the field of eight by a half-length over frontrunner and 5-2 third choice Subtle Indian. Kobe's Back, favored at 9-5 made a bid but petered out to finish third while Home Run Kitten, Clever Royal, Ambitious Brew, Cautious Giant, and Coastline completed the order of finish.
