Ballerina Stakes at Saratoga Race Course Results
Las Vegas, NV - The $500,000 Grade 1 Ballerina Stakes went down on Saratoga turf Friday, August 23. 8-5 second choice Dance to Bristol stretched her stellar streak to seven wins and defeated the 3-2 favorite Book Review by a head. It was Dance to Bristol's first Grade 1 score and earned her an automatic berth into the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint. It was 1 1/2 lengths back to Villanesca, making her graded stakes debut for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin. She finished a nose better than 36-1 shot Street Girl, who was followed by Classic Point a neck farther back. Then came Starship Truffles, Fantasy of Flight, Sure Route, Moment in Dixie, and Glorious View. Judy the Beauty who was sent off at 3-1 odds scratched at the post after apparently injuring herself in the starting gate.
