Liam's Map Wins Woodward Stakes at Saratoga Race Course
Las Vegas, NV - Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York was the scene of the $600,000 Grade 1 Woodward Stakes on Saturday, September 5 - a 1 1/8 mile test for older horses. Teresa Viola Racing Stables' Liam's Map cruised home in gate-to-wire fashion to record his first Grade 1 victory - by 4 3/4 lengths as the 6-5 favorite. 6-1 shot Coach Inge finished second with Wicked Strong getting third at 5-1 odds. Second choice Effinex finished a somewhat disappointing fourth followed by Mylute, Bay of Plenty, Commanding Curve and Prontonico.
