Las Vegas, NV - Tampa Bay Downs in Tampa Florida played host to the $350,000 Grade 2 Tampa Bay Derby on Saturday, March 8 with the winner earning 50 points toward qualification to the Kentucky Derby in May. St. Elias Stable and West Point Thoroughbreds' Ring Weekend posted the upset win at 14-1 odds in gate-to-wire fashion. Vinceremos finished second with Surfing U S A getting up for third. Conquest Titan, favored at 5-2 off a runner-up finish to Cairo Prince in the Miller Lite Holy Bull, was fourth followed by Matador, Cousin Stephen, Hy Kodiak Warrior, East Hall, Coltimus Prime, and Tuscan Getaway.
