Calgary Cat may have sewn up the Sovereign Award as Canada's top sprinter with the win. Reade Baker trained 5-2 second choice Sharp Sensation finished second while Black Hornet was promoted to third after a disqualification to last year's winner of this race Bear No Joke who eventually finished fourth. Go Blue Or Go Home was fifth, followed by Stacked Deck, Jose Sea View, and Sparrowhawk.
