Lexie Lou Wins Queen's Plate Stakes at Woodbine Racetrack
Las Vegas, NV - The most prestigious race on Canadian soil - the $1 million Queen's Plate took place at Woodbine on Sunday, June 6. A field of 15 lined up with the lone filly among them emerging victorious - giving her trainer Mark Casse his elusive first Queen's Plate victory. Lexie Lou, the 3-1 second choice was much the best on the day winning by 1 1/2 lengths while Ami's Holiday charged late to finish second and Asserting Bear held on for third. Morning line 19-10 favorite We Miss Artie was fourth and Niigon Express finished fifth. Lions Bay, Matador, Heart to Heart, Coltimus Prime, Athenian Guard, Cap in Hand, One Destiny, Man o' Bear, Tower of Texas, and Majestic Sunset completed the order of finish.
