Gamble's Ghost Wins Selene Stakes at Woodbine Racetrack
The $150,000 Grade 3 Selene Stakes took place on Sunday, May 15 at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto, Ontario and featured three year old fillies who went 1 1/16 miles on Woodbine's All Weather Track in what is a major prep for the $500,000 Woodbine Oaks on June 12. Ivan Dalos' homebred 5-2 second choice Gamble's Ghost bounced back from a sixth place finish last time out in the Florida Oaks and posted an impressive 1 1/4 length win in the field of six. 3-1 third betting choice Caren finished second while even-money favorite Thrilled was slightly disappointing in coming another 3 1/4 lengths back in third. Treasuring finished fourth followed by Inconclusive and Niigon's Legacy to complete the order of finish.
