Las Vegas, NV - Del Mar Race Course will be the scene of the Grade 2 San Clemente Handicap this Sunday, July 22nd. Three year old fillies will race one mile on Del Mar's turf course in search of their portion of the $150,000 purse.
The San Clemente Handicap has drawn a strong field of eight females to go in race 8 on Del Mar's Sunday card. Post time is 5:30 PM. Here is a look at all eight entries and their recent performances ahead of this Grade 2 race.
Killer Graces - Killer Graces surprisingly has only three career wins. Lately it has been a bit of a struggle for the Jerry Hollendorfer filly - a fourth last time out behind the likes of Eden's Moon in the Grade 2 Hollywood Oaks followed a third in the Grade 3 Providencia Stakes and a disappointing seventh in the Grade 1 Las Virgenes Stakes. She was favored in the Santa Ysabel and finished second behind Willa B. Awesome and has fallen on hard times since. Killer Graces has three wins, four seconds and a third place finish in 12 career starts.
Eden's Moon - bounced back from a horrendous last place finish in the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks with a decent second in the Grade 2 Hollywood Oaks last time out. The Bob Baffert trained filly also has two wins a second and a third place finish in her other five career starts - a third at the Grade 1 Santa Anita Oaks on March 31st an impressive score at the Grade 1 Las Virgenes Stakes on March 3rd and a win in a Maiden Special Weight race at Santa Anita on January 8th. Sunday, however marks Eden's Moon's first ever race on turf but as we all know Bob Baffert pupils are always competitive.
Byrama - has had a very good year with two wins, two seconds and a third place finish in five starts. Last time out was a win in the minor Manhattan Beach Stakes at Hollywood Park to follow a third in the Grade 3 Senorita Stakes, a second in the Grade 3 Providencia Stakes at Santa Anita Park on April 7th and a third at the Blue Norther Stakes at Santa Anita on December 30th. In eight career starts Byrama has yet to finish out of the money.
Morocco Moon - will be making her North American debut after a good career in England. In four career starts overseas Morocco Moon had two wins, a second and a third place finish. Not much is known about this filly but based on previous results; she could be one to watch.

Indigo River - is another European transplant but Indigo River has had some success already in North America winning her debut - an Allowance Optional Claiming at Santa Anita on January 13th and following it up with a win in the minor Sweet Life Stakes also at Santa Anita on February 12th. Indigo River hasn't raced since March when she placed third in the China Doll Stakes.
Open Water - finished a very impressive third in the Grade 1 Las Virgenes but followed it up last time out with a disappointing seventh in the Hollywood Oaks. She started her 2012 campaign with two straight wins - an Allowance and a Maiden Special Weight race at Turfway Park but she has fallen off a tad as the season has worn on.
Don'tgetmadalexis - has won four of five starts in 2012 and finished second in the other start. She takes a huge step up in competition on Sunday - the San Clemente will represent her stakes debut.
Oblivion - hasn't raced since a sixth place finish in November at the Sharp Cat Stakes at Hollywood Park. Before that she had two wins - an Allowance at Golden Gate and a Maiden Special Weight on that same track.
