Las Vegas, NV -- The Grade 2 Davona Dale Stakes comes our way this Saturday, February 25th from beautiful Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida. A field of nine Fillies, Three years old, will take to Gulfstream's main dirt track and race 1 1/16 miles for the $250,000 purse.
The field includes no less than six stakes winners and is headlined by a couple of very impressive fillies making their 2012 debut - Grace Hall and Disposablepleasure. The Davona is an important prep race for the Grade 2 Gulfstream Oaks and more importantly the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks later this year.
The Davona Dale Stakes is the last of three Graded Stakes races on Gulfstream's impressive Saturday Card and is definitely the highlight of what should be a very interesting day. It is the 11th race with a post time of 5:13 PM ET.
Below is a list of the nine participants and the credentials that brought them to this prestigious race.
The Favorites:
Grace Hall - Grace Hall has to be considered the favorite in this race having won three of her four career starts - the only loss coming in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies to eventual Eclipse Award winner Miss Aurelia. Her wins include the Blue Hen Stakes at Delaware and an impressive win at the Grade 1 Spinaway at Saratoga. This will be Grace Hall's first start of 2012 and the first step to a possible start at the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks.

Disposablepleasure - Disposablepleasure has been very impressive of late winning the Grade 2 Demoiselle Stakes at Aqueduct in November and winning a Maiden Special Weight race at Belmont in October. The Todd Pletcher trained filly has two wins and a second in four career starts.
Captivating Lass - has two wins in three career starts - the most recent win coming in the Busanda Stakes at Aqueduct on January 7th. But sandwiched between her wins is a disappointing seventh place finish in the Grade 2 Demoiselle Stakes at Aqueduct in November in a race that Disposablepleasure won.
The Others:
Frolic's Revenge - Frolic's Revenge has raced a staggering nine times in her young career - three firsts, one second and three thirds. Most recently she finished third at the Sweetest Chant Stakes and won the Ginger Brew Stakes - both at Gulfstream. In the summer, Frolic's Revenge won the Lindsey Frolic Stakes at Calder. You can never count out a Todd Pletcher trained horse!
Salad Girl - Salad Girl has four career starts that have yielded three wins and a second place finish. Most recently, Salad Girl won the Gasparilla Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs on January 14th and the Jersey Juvenile Stakes at Monmouth in October.
Yara - Yara won the Joe O'Farrell Juvenile Fillies Stakes at Calder in November but followed that up with a fourth last time out in the Grade 2 Forward Gal Stakes at Gulfstream.
Nuffsaid Nuffsaid - has two firsts and two seconds in four career starts but the Davona represents a huge step up in competition. Her last two races have resulted in wins - an Allowance Optional Claiming on February 2nd and a Maiden Special Weight in January - both at Gulfstream.
The Cat's All That - has two seconds in her last two outings - both Allowance Optional Claiming races at Gulfstream. The Cat's All That has one win in four career starts.
Taker Home - Taker Home has five career starts with one win - a Maiden Claiming race at Gulfstream on December 30th.
The Davona Dale Stakes is Race 11 on Gulstream's Saturday card with a Post Time of 5:13 PM ET.
