He had an impressive victory over Simmard at the Grade 2 Pan American Stakes at Gulfstream in March for his best result this year but has struggled since - a fifth in the Grade 1 Elkhorn in April, a fourth in the Grade 1 Man o' War Stakes in July, a fourth in the Grade 1 Sword Dancer and a fifth last time out in the Grade 2 Bowling Green are all that Newsdad has mustered in four starts since his impressive win in the Pan American.
Guys Reward - Dale Romans pupil had put together quite a run - three straight wins including the Grade 2 Firecracker Handicap at Churchill Downs in July but he hasn't been the same in his last two starts - a fourth in the Grade 2 Fourstardave Handicap was followed by another fourth last time out in the Grade 2 Bernard Baruch at Saratoga September 1. He has 36 starts win seven wins.
Salto - had so-so career in Europe and in his North American debut finished fifth in the Grade 3 Commonwealth Turf Stakes at Churchill Downs in November. In 2012 Salto raced to a fourth in an Allowance Optional Claiming in July after an eight month layoff, a very good second as favorite in the Grade 3 Cliff Hanger ay Monmouth September 1 and an Allowance score by nine lengths last time out here October 13.
Middie - has won two straight races ahead of the Fayette - an Allowance Optional Claiming last time out here on October 6 and an impressive win in the Grade 3 Washington Park Handicap September 1 at Arlington Park. He has five wins in 17 career starts - needless to say he is in the best form of his career heading into this weekend's race.

Nikki's Sandcastle - has 27 career starts with 6 wins. His last two starts have resulted in second place finishes - both minor stakes races. Last time out was a second in the Robert F. Carey Memorial Handicap at Hawthorne October 6 and before that was a second in the Edward J. DeBartolo Memorial at Remington Park August 18.
Golden Yank - veteran of 31 career starts, Golden Yank enters the Fayette having finished second in his last two starts - both minor stakes races - the Remington Green Stakes last time out and the Unbridled Stakes September 8. He had a fourth in the Grade 2 Alysheba Stakes in May and a fifth in the Grade 3 Lone Star Park Handicap also in May in his most recent graded stakes action.
Photo Shoot - will be making his graded stakes debut on Saturday but has started one minor stakes race which resulted in a third two back at the Presque Isle Mile Stakes. He followed that up with a fourth in an Allowance here October 13. Before those result Photo Shoot won two of three Allowance races at Presque Isle Downs.
Vertiformer - won an Allowance Optional Claiming June 6 and raced three straight graded stakes races after that posting a fourth in the Grade 3 Arlington Handicap, an eleventh in the Grade 1 Arlington Million two back and a fifth last time out in the Grade 3 Durham Cup Stakes.
Eye of the Leopard - beat Stormy Lord in an Allowance Optional Claiming July 14 for the best result in a while - that race snapped an eight race losing streak dating back to 2010. Since then Eye of the Leopard has raced to a disappointing seventh in the Grade 2 Sky Classic and a third last time out in an Allowance September 21 at Woodbine.
Twinspired - Michael Maker colt raced to a seventeenth place finish in the 2011 Kentucky Derby but hasn't tasted victory since February of last year. In 2012 Twinspired has three seconds and a third place finish in seven starts - all Allowance races.
