Las Vegas, NV - The Grade 3 Robert J. Frankel Stakes comes our way this Sunday, December 30 from Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California. A strong field of nine females has been confirmed for the Robert J. Frankel. It is race 8 on Santa Anita's Sunday card with a post time of 4:07 PM. Here is a brief glance into the past performances of all nine entries ahead of this Grade 3 race.
Tiz Flirtatious - Tiz Flirtatious has shown well recently with four wins in six career races - the only blemishes being the Grade 2 La Canada Stakes in January in her graded stakes debut and last time out - a good second in the Grade 1 Matriarch Stakes November 25 behind Better Lucky. After nine months off she returned with a win in the minor John Deere California Distaff here October 13. She has just two graded stakes races under her belt and has yet to register a graded stakes win but has been great against lesser competition.
Qaraaba - British bred five-time minor stakes winner has seven starts in 2012 with 4 wins and a second place finish. She has just one North American start however - an Allowance Optional Claiming score last time out at Hollywood Park November 15. Ultra-experienced Julien Leparoux will be in the saddle and will be hoping for a North American breakthrough this Sunday.
Camelia Rose - was fifth in the Grade 2 Yellow Ribbon September 3 after a second in an Allowance Optional Claiming. Since then Camelia Rose has two starts - a third last time out in an Allowance Optional Claiming here October 19 followed an OK fourth in the Grade 1 Rodeo Drive also here September 29. She has eight starts this year with no wins, two seconds and a third place finish.
Imperialistic Diva - has nine starts in 2012 and has placed in only two - an Allowance Optional Claiming score at Hollywood Park on May 31 and a second in a similar race back in February. She went on to a fourth in the Grade 3 Beverly Hills Handicap on June 24 and a seventh in the Osunitas Stakes on July 21. Imperialistic Diva has finished out of the money in her last two starts as well - a sixth last time out in the minor Miss America Stakes followed a fifth in the Grade 2 John Mabee Stakes in August.
Halo Dolly - has 14 wins in 24 career starts including five of her last six - the most impressive win coming in the Grade 2 Yellow Ribbon Handicap at Del Mar on September 3. Other wins include Miss America Stakes last time out October 20 over Imperialistic Diva, the minor Solana Beach Handicap, the Almeda County Fillies and Mares Stakes and the Fran's Valentine Stakes. She has seven wins in 11 starts this year and is certainly one to watch Sunday!
