Las Vegas, NV - The 95th version of the Grade 2 Adirondack Stakes is on tap for this Sunday, August 12 from Saratoga. Two year old fillies will be featured as they dash six and a half furlongs for their share of the $200,000 purse.
The Adirondack has attracted a field of six juvenile fillies to go in race 10 on Saratoga's Sunday schedule - all of the females have at least one win in their short careers. Post time is 6:14 PM. Here is a look at the past performances of the six and what should play out in what is sure to be a very intriguing stakes race.
Kauai Katie - Todd Pletcher will be looking for his first graded stakes win at Saratoga this summer with impressive filly Kauai Katie. She has only one career start thus far but by all accounts is a star in the making. She broke maiden by a staggering 12 lengths on July 20 and earned a 100 Beyer Speed Figure in that race - the highest by any two year old this year.
Salamera - broke maiden on May 26 at Calder by four and a quarter lengths and then went on to win her only other career start in the J J's Dream Stakes also at Calder on June 30. Two wins in two career starts has Salamera on the Adirondack radar.
Cayllano - also has two wins in two career starts and like Salamera, Cayllano has on Maiden Special Weight score by an impressive nine lengths and a stakes win under her belt - the White Clay Creek Overnight Stakes by eight and a half lengths at Delaware Park on July 4. Cayllano has yet to be challenged in a race but Sunday figures to be her toughest race to date.
Fully Living - Kenneth McPeek filly that also broke maiden in her debut at Belmont Park on May 31 and then went on to record a decent fourth last time out in the Grade 3 Schuylerville Stakes here on July 20.
