Las Vegas, NV - The Grade 1 TVG Coaching Club American Oaks takes place this Saturday, July 21st from Saratoga Race Course in upstate New York. Three year old fillies will be features as they go 1 1/8 miles on Saratoga's main dirt track.
The Coaching Club American Oaks has attracted a field of six to go in race 10 on Saratoga's Saturday card. Post time is 5:45 PM. Here is a brief glimpse into the six entries and their past performances ahead of this Grade 1 stakes race.
Zo Impressive - won her first two career starts- an Allowance Optional Claiming at Gulfstream Park on February 25th and a Maiden Special Weight race on January 22nd also at Gulfstream. She followed that up with an impressive second behind Grace Hall in the Grade 2 Gulfstream Oaks Stakes on March 31st and a second in the Grade 1 Acorn Stakes here behind Contested. Last time out was a very impressive win in the Grade 1 Mother Goose Stakes at Belmont Park on June 23rd over fellow American Oaks competitor Disposable pleasure - her first stakes win. She has placed in all five career starts and is a good bet to do the same Saturday. p>
In Lingerie - very impressive Todd Pletcher trained filly that led wire to wire in the Grade 3 Bourbonette Stakes at Turfway and won by six lengths and then followed it up with another impressive score in the Grade 2 Black-Eyed Susan Stakes last time out at Pimlico on May 18th. Before that was a second in an Allowance Optional Claiming race at Gulfstream on February 25th. This impressive filly broke maiden at Turfway on January 14th and is certainly a one to watch in the American Oaks.
Disposablepleasure - Todd Pletcher pupil Disposablepleasure had looked very good in winning at the Grade 2 Demoiselle Stakes at Aqueduct in November but has not tasted victory since. She recorded a fourth in the Grade 2 Davona Dale, a third in the Grade 2 Fair Ground Oaks, a respectable second in the Grade 2 Black-Eyed Susan Stakes behind In Lingerie and she finished second last time out behind Zo Impressive in the Grade 1 Mother Goose. She has two wins, three seconds and a third in eight career starts.
Questing - made her North American debut with a fifth place finish in the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies in November and failed to place in two Allowance Optional Claiming races after that. Last time out however was her first North American score at an Allowance Optional Claiming by 3 ¾ lengths at Belmont on June 24th.

Yara - looked promising after an upset win in the Davona Dale Stakes on February 25th after a fourth at the Grade 2 Forward Gal Stakes at Gulfstream. But Yara followed up her impressive win with a disappointing fifth in the Grade 2 Gulfstream Oaks, an unbelievable 13 th in the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks and a third last time out in the minor Leave Me Alone Stakes at Calder on June 9th.
Funny Proposition - has four career stars with two wins. In her only stakes action Funny Proposition finished a disappointing eighth in the Grade 3 Regret Stakes at Churchill Downs on June 16th.
