Las Vegas, NV - The 2012 version of the Grade 3 Dance Smartly Stakes comes our way from Woodbine this Sunday, July 8th. Fillies and mares three years old and upward will be featured as they go 1 1/8 miles on Woodbine's turf track for their portion of the $300,000 purse.

2012 Dance Smartly Stakes Race Favorites
Marketing Mix - has won five of her last seven starts since switching to turf and two of three in 2012. Last time out was a win in the Grade 2 Nassau Stakes here to follow an uncharacteristic fourth in the Grade 2 Churchill Distaff Turf Mile Stakes. She also won an Allowance at Keeneland this year and finished 2011 with a win at the Grade 2 Mrs. Revere Stakes in November at Churchill Downs, a second at the Grade 2 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup in October, a win in the Grade 3 Pucker Up Stakes and a victory on this track in the Wonder Where Stakes last July. Marketing Mix is definitely better than rival Inglorious at the moment and is the favorite on Sunday based on her win last time out.
Inglorious - Canada's champion three year old filly and runner up for horse of the year in 2011 makes just her third start this year. Most recently she finished a disappointing fourth in the Grade 2 Nassau to follow up a second to fellow Dance Smartly entry Marketing Mix in an Allowance race at Keeneland. Inglorious closed out 2011 here with a third place finish in the Grade 3 Selene Stakes after a troubled sixth in the Grade 1 Alabama Stakes. Prior to that unflattering result she won three in a row including the Woodbine Oaks and the Queen's Plate and La Lorgnette Stakes. With five wins and a third in six career starts on this track, Inglorious has to be in the conversation for Sunday's race although her two starts this year have resulted in losses to Marketing Mix.

Indian Pond - made her 2012 debut in the Nassau and finished a decent third after a third place finish in the Maple Leaf Stakes on this track closed out her 2011. Indian Pond has three wins and three third place finishes in eight career starts.
Kissable - Irish bred filly will be making her North American debut in the Dance Smartly after just one win in nine starts overseas.

Lode Lady - four year old filly will be making her stakes debut on Sunday after two wins, one second and two thirds in nine starts - all Allowance and Maiden Special Weight races.
Moonlit Beauty - won an Allowance here on June 16th and followed it up with a fourth last time out in the Zadracarta Stakes on June 16th. Moonlit Beauty has 29 starts with seven wins, four seconds and a third place finish.
