Las Vegas, NV - One week to go before the horse racing world will be transfixed on Santa Anita for the 2012 Breeders' Cup. There was some graded stakes action this past weekend with races taking place at Belmont Park, Keeneland and Santa Anita - for Belmont and Keeneland; it was the closing weekend for their fall meets. Godolphin Racing's 4-1 fourth choice Buffum posted a wire-to-wire victory in the Grade 3 $150,000 Bold Ruler Handicap at Belmont Park Saturday for his second score in three starts. Buffum held well for a 1 1/4-length victory over Little Drama, with Associate finishing third, another half-length back. Caixa Eletronica, the 3-2 favorite in the field of nine, rallied wide but weakened in the stretch to finish seventh.

3-1 second choice Afleeting Lady had things her way in the Grade 3 Turnback the Alarm Handicap at Belmont Park Saturday for her second straight victory. She raced slightly off the pace set by All Due Respect before drawing clear in the final furlong to win by 3 1/2 lengths. All Due Respect finished second, 2 1/4 lengths ahead of Nefertini. R Gypsy Gold, the 5-2 favorite finished a disappointing fifth.

In the Grade 2 Fayette Stakes at Keeneland Saturday, 8-1 fourth choice Newsdad made a successful transition to polytrack with a two length victory. It was Nikki's Sandcastle, posting his third consecutive stakes runner-up finish and Take Charge Indy looked good in his return from injury by finishing third.

Mercedes Stable's homebred Lady Ten surged to the lead off the far turn and held the fast-closing 10-1 sixth choice Customer Base to win Saturday's Grade 3, $100,000 Autumn Miss Stakes at Santa Anita. Lady Ten was sent postward as the 2-1 favorite for trainer Bob Baffert and jockey Rafael Bejarano. Charm the Maker ran into some traffic and finished an unlucky third.
