Las Vegas, NV - Aqueduct Racetrack in New York will be the scene of the Grade 3 Toboggan Stakes this Saturday, February 2. Horses three years old and upward will be featured as they dash six furlongs in Aqueduct's inner track in search of the winner's share of the $150,000 purse.
A small but quality group of six has been confirmed for the Toboggan - race 8 on Aqueduct's Saturday schedule - all of which will be seeking their first graded stakes win. Post time is 3:48 PM. Let's take a brief glance at the credentials of all six entries ahead of this Grade 3 stakes.
Mine Over Matter - Multiple stakes winner won the Hudson Stakes at Belmont Park October 20 and followed that with a nice third in the Grade 3 Fall Highweight Handicap here November 22 behind Caixia Electronica and This Ones for Phil. Last time out was another decent result - a second by 2 3/4 lengths in the TurnoftheCentury Stakes behind Bob Baffert's Brigand also here January 20.
Johannesburg Smile - Todd Pletcher pupil focused on minor stakes races in 2012 racing eight straight while recording a win , a second and three third place finishes - one of those the Fourstars Allstar Stakes on this track November 18. He is coming off a win last time out over Gallant Fields in an Allowance Optional Claiming January 4 on this track.
P J's Magical Wink - has nine career starts with three wins and a second but steps up in stakes company for the first time on Saturday. A two race win streak was interrupted last time out with a fifth in an Allowance at Parx December 23.

Head Heart Hoof - Stakes winner and multiple stakes placed Head Heart Hoof is coming off a win last time out in the minor True and Blue Stakes by 2 1/4 lengths over Royal Currier here January 9 after a third in the Valley Forge Stakes and a win in the Starter Handicap on this track November 21. He has placed in his last four starts and has 17 wins, 7 seconds and three third place finishes in 49 career starts.
Isn't He Perfect - had 13 nine starts in 2012 and has placed in his last four starts overall - all minor stakes action. Last time out was a good second in the Evening Attire Stakes behind Last Gunfighter here January 19 after a pair of thirds on this track in December. Isn`t He Perfect has five wins, seven seconds and five third place finishes in 32 career starts but has been in the money in 11 of his last 12 races. Translation - he enters the Toboggan in pretty good form.
Sinai - has 17 career starts with three wins, two seconds and two third place finishes - one of those wins coming last time out in an Allowance Optional Claiming here three weeks ago. Prior to that result he had failed to place in his previous two. Sinai hasn`t seen any graded stakes action since May 2011 - a fourth in the Grade 3 Lazaro Barrera and has just two Allowance scores since that time.
