Las Vegas, NV - The Grade 2 Bowling Green Handicap comes our way from Belmont Park in Elmont, New York this Saturday, July 12. Horses four years old and upward will be featured as they chase the winner's share of the $200,000 purse while going 1 1/2 miles on Belmont Park's turf track.

Boisterous -seven time graded stakes winner was last seen running a distant seventh in the Grade 1 Manhattan Stakes after a third behind Wise Dan and Seek Again in the Grade 1 Woodford Reserve Turf Classic May 3 and an Allowance score April 5 for trainer Todd Pletcher. Before that was an eighth in the Grade 1 Gulfstream Park Turf Handicap in February and a sixth in the Grade 3 Knickerbocker Stakes on this track in October. He won the 2011 and 2012 Grade 3 Red Smith Stakes at Aqueduct and the 2011 and 2012 Knickerbocker Stakes but hasn't exactly been terrific as of late. Boisterous hopes to return to the form that saw him win two straight races at this time last year - the Grade 1 Man o' War in July and the Grade 2 Monmouth Stakes in June when he leaves from post 3 with John Velazquez in the saddle.
Grandeur - Irish bred gelding made his North American debut with an impressive win in the Grade 2 Twilight Derby at Santa Anita November 2, 2012 and followed that up with another good result - a second as favorite in the 2013 Grade 1 Hollywood Derby November 25. He went on to win the Grade 2 Hollywood Turf Cup Stakes in December before shipping back to Ireland where he had a fourth and a second in the group II Sky Bet York Stakes behind the talented Mukhadram in July. This after nearly eight months away. Grandeur returned to North America May 11 and finished third in the Grade 1 Man o' War Stakes behind Imagining and Real Solution and most recently was seen running fourth in the Grade 1 Manhattan Stakes here June 7. Joel Rosario will be aboard the 122 pound highweight from gate 5.
Reflecting - Shug McGaughey trainee has just three wins, a second and four third place finishes in 18 career starts but hasn't posted victory since an Allowance in April, 2013. He is coming off an OK third in the minor Belmont Gold Cup here last week after a fifth in an Allowance in April and a seventh in his last graded stakes action - the Grade 3 Tropical Turf Handicap back in December. He has failed to place in his last four starts overall and has never hit the board in graded stakes action. Reflecting hopes to change all that Saturday from the outside post with Irad Ortiz in the saddle.
Chamois - Christophe Clement pupil made his 2014 debut finishing third in the Grade 2 Dixie Stakes at Pimlico May 17 and finished tenth as the longest shot in the field last time out - in the Grade 1 Manhattan Stakes here June 7. He did have a minor stakes score in November however - the Duluth Stakes at Aqueduct. He also had another minor stakes score in September - the Stanton Stakes with a fourth in the minor Basket Wave Stakes sandwiched in between the wins. Chamois has four wins and three third place finishes in 11 career start and will have Cornelio Velasquez in the saddle from gate 5.

Hangover Kid - raced in graded stakes company for the first time and finished a decent third in the Grade 1 United Nations last July 6 after 16 career starts produced five wins, four seconds and two third place finishes. He had a win in the minor West Point Stakes at Saratoga in August but was sixth in the minor Ashley T. Cole Stakes at Belmont Park September 15. After that Hangover Kid has recorded consecutive seconds - in an Allowance Optional Claiming March 1 at Gulfstream and in the Grade 3 Red Smith Handicap at Aqueduct in November. This year he has two starts - a good second last time out in the Grade 2 Monmouth Stakes June 8 followed an ugly thirteenth in the Grade 2 Elkhorn Stakes in April. Hangover Kid has 23 career starts with six wins, seven seconds and three third place finishes and enters as inconsistent as ever. He leaves from the rail with Jose Lezcano in the saddle.
Sky Blazer - trainer Barclay Tagg sends out multiple graded stakes placed Sky Blazer off a fifth in the minor Belmont Gold Cup just a week ago after a sixth in the Grade 3 Fort Marcy Stakes here May 3 and a fourth in an Allowance in April - not great. Before that were a win and a second respectively in Allowance races this past winter. He has 27 career starts with just five wins, four seconds and three third place finishes and looks for his first graded stakes score Saturday having failed to place in his last three starts overall. Rajiv Maragh gets the call from gate 6.
Horvat Clan - David Cannizzo trained gelding races in stakes company for the first time Saturday after 18 career starts yielded four wins, four seconds and four third place finishes. He enters having won two of his last three starts - an Allowance last time out on this track and a Claiming at Saratoga three back - which followed nearly 10 months away from the track. He steps up in OK form with Junior Alvarado aboard from post 2.
