Las Vegas, NV - Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida will be the scene of the Grade 2 Forward Gal Stakes Saturday, January 25. A group of three year old fillies will chase the winner's share of the $200,000 purse and the 10 qualification points for the Kentucky Oaks when they dash seven furlongs on Gulfstream's main track.
A field of six three year old females have been confirmed for the Forward Gal - race 7 on Gulfstream's Saturday card. Post time is 3:34 PM. Here is a look into the past performances of all six entries for this important Grade 2 stakes.
Resistivity - Mark Casse trained filly races in stakes company for the first time Saturday but is coming off a maiden score on this track December 27. Before that was a second as favorite behind the terrific Unbridled Forever in a MSW at Churchill Downs November 30 and a fifth at Keeneland in her debut in October. Resistivity comes in with arguably the most hype and will have Julien Leparoux, who was aboard her during her only win, in the saddle as she leaves from the rail. A cut back in distance should really help this filly who is expected to do well.
Onlyforyou - unbeaten Todd Pletcher trained filly races in stakes company for the first time Saturday after a $75K Allowance Optional Claiming score here December 15 and a MSW score by 3 1/2 lengths in her career bow in October at Aqueduct. She hopes to follow another Todd Pletcher trainee, Kauai Katie in winning the Forward Gal. Javier Castellano gets the call from post 3.
Flash Encounter - Michael Yates trained filly has two wins in four career starts including an entry-level Allowance at Calder last time out January 10. Before that was a fourth in an Allowance December 21 and a win in a Maiden Claiming at Calder December 1. She hasn't had much high level competition but in a field of just six she could surprise.

Stately Defense - has five career starts - all at Gulfstream. She broke maiden in her second career start October 19 and followed that with a fourth in the Juvenile Filly Turf Stakes November 9. She is coming off a third behind Penwith in an Allowance Optional Claiming January 2 after a seventh in a similar race December 13. Stately Defense hasn't been great but hopes that a sprinting distance will help her turn the corner.
My Dear Regina - is coming off a win in her second career start - a MSW at Churchill Downs November 10 after a second in her career debut September 28 in a similar race on that same track.
Aurelia's Belle - will race for just the third time for trainer Wayne Catalano but she does have graded stakes experience - a decent third last time out in the Grade 3 Old Hat Stakes here (7 1/2 lengths back) January 4. She won her debut in October - a MSW at Keeneland.
