Las Vegas, NV - The Grade 2 Swale Stakes is on tap for this Saturday, March 1 from Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida. Some of the best three year olds around will take to Gulfstream's main track and dash seven furlongs in search of the winner's share of the $200,000 purse.
A field of seven has been confirmed for the Swale - race 9 on Gulfstream's Saturday schedule. Post time is 5:10 PM. Let's take a brief glance into the past performances of all seven combatants for this Grade 2 stakes.
Havana - Todd Pletcher trained colt and Eclipse Award finalist for two year old male will race for the first time since a second place finish in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile in November. His other two career results were wins - in the Grade 1 Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park in October and a 2 3/4 length MSW score August 23 at Saratoga with a terrific Beyer Speed Figure of 102. He cuts back in distance Saturday after his freshening looking to maintain what has been an impressive start to his career. John Velazquez gets the call.
No Nay Never - Wesley Ward pupil started his career with a win in a MSW at Keeneland in April 2013 but headed overseas after that where he had two more starts and two more wins - the Grade 1 Darley Prix Morny at Deauville in August and a win at Ascot in June. He hits the track for the first time in six months Saturday but brings a fair amount of hype with him into the Swale. No Nay Never makes his first start on dirt Saturday looking to continue his winning ways in his first race back on North American soil.
Prudhoe Bay - won the OBS Sprint Stakes at Ocala Training Center last time out January 21 over Breitling Flyer and Can't Stop the Kid after a disappointing fifth in an Allowance Optional Claiming here December 15 and a maiden score in his debut also on this track November 10. Edward Plesa has high hopes for Prudhoe Bay and he has delivered winning two of three starts.

Brothersofthetime - has three wins and a second place finish in five career starts for trainer Antonio Sano but is coming off the only race in which he hasn't placed - a fourth in the minor Foolish Pleasure Stakes at Calder September 14, Before that was a two race win streak including the minor Seacliff Stakes in August and an Allowance on this track in July. He hits the track for the first time since September Saturday looking to maintain his good form.
Breitling Flyer - most recently finished second behind Prudhoe Bay in the OBS Sprint Stakes at Ocala Training Center January 21 after an OK third in the minor Calder Turf Dash in August and a pair of seconds in Allowance races on this track this past summer. He has just one win which came in his debut, three seconds and a third place finish in six career starts for trainer Leo Azpurua.
Can't Stop the Kid - has six career starts for trainer Donna Green but Saturday will mark his graded stakes debut. His stakes debut came two back - a third in the OBS Sprint Stakes at Ocala Training Center January 21 but he followed that with an Allowance Optional Claiming score last time out on this track February 2. Can't Stop the Kid has two wins and four third place finishes in his career thus far but takes a huge step up in competition in the Swale.
Spot - will race for the sixth time for trainer James DiVito but his coming off his only graded stakes action - a fifth in the Grade 3 Hutcheson Stakes here February 1. This after an 8 1/2 length MSW score at Hawthorne October 24 - his only win to date. Before that was a fifth, a tenth and a second respectively in MSW races at Keeneland and Arlington Park.
