Las Vegas, NV - Aqueduct Racetrack in South Ozone Park, New York will be the scene of the Grade 2 Nashua Stakes on Wednesday, November 4. Two year olds will be after the winner's share of the $200,000 purse when they take to Aqueduct's dirt track and race one mile around one turn.
A field of eight will give it a go in the Nashua Stakes - race 8 on Aqueduct's opening day Wednesday schedule. Post time is 3:50 PM. Here is a look into the past performances of all eight combatants for this mid-week, Grade 2 stakes.
Magna Light - has a win, a second and a third place finish in four career starts for trainer Rudy Rodriguez - three graded stakes starts already. He was third in the Grade 3 Sanford Stakes after crossing the line and being DQ's to third at Saratoga in July, second in the Grade 1 Hopeful Stake son that same track September 7 but stumbled to a seventh last time out in the Grade 1 Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park October 3. Magna Light looks for a strong bounce back and for his first stakes score when he leaves from post 3 with Jose Ortiz in the reins Wednesday.
Sunny Ridge - Jason Servis trained gelding has four career starts with two wins and a second place finish. He enters off a respectable second behind Ralis and ahead of Magna Light in the Grade 1 Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park October 3, a win in the minor Sapling Stakes at Monmouth Park and a disappointing seventh in the Grade 3 Sanford Stakes in July. He has looked good in his last two starts and will line up from the rail looking for his first graded stakes score with Jose Lezcano in the irons of the 122 pound highweight.
Sail Ahoy - Shug McGaughey trained colt has a win and a third place finish in three career starts and enters off his only off-the-board finish - a fourth behind Sunny Ridge and ahead of Magna Light in the Grade 1 Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park October 3. Before that was a maiden score at Belmont Park September 12 and a third in his debut at Saratoga August 29. Sail Ahoy has been OK so far and hopes for his first stakes score - from gate 6 with Joel Rosario in the reins.
Jay's Way - Jamie Ness trained colt races in stakes company for the first time Wednesday having recorded two wins and a second place finish in his three career starts. Last time out was an Allowance Optional Claiming score at Delaware Park September 28 after a maiden score at Monmouth Park September 7 and a second in his debut. Jay's Way has improved every time out but takes an enormous step up in company Wednesday. Trevor McCarthy has been tabbed to ride from gate 2.

River Dell - will hit the track for just the third time for trainer Thomas Albertrani having posted a win and a second place finish so far. Last time out was a maiden score at Belmont Park October 3 after a second at Saratoga in his debut August 29. River Dell takes a huge step up in competition Wednesday from gate 4 with Luis Saez guiding him.
Pilot House - has just one career starts for trainer Teresa Pompay and it was a good one - a maiden score at Monmouth Park September 27. Pilot House steps into stakes company for the first time Wednesday from post 5 with John Velazquez aboard.
Mohaymen - Kiaran McLaughlin trained colt races for just the second time Wednesday off a maiden score at first asking - at Belmont Park September 19. Junior Alvarado gets the call hoping to make it two straight wins - from post 7.
Flexibility - red-hot trainer Chad Brown sends out Flexibility for his second career start. His first start was a good one - a maiden score at Belmont Park October 10. Manuel Franco has been tabbed to ride Flexibility in his second career start - from the outside gate 8.
