Las Vegas, NV - The Grade 1 Flower Bowl Stakes is on tap for Belmont Park in Elmont, New York on Saturday, October 3. Fillies and mares three years old and upward will be after the winner's share of the $500,000 purse when they take to Belmont Park's inner turf track and race 1 1/4 miles.

2015 Flower Bowl Stakes Race Favorite Entries

Stephanie's Kitten 9-5 - defending winner of this race had a very productive Juvenile campaign in which she won or placed in all five starts (three wins and two third place finishes) including the 2011 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf. She was a leading Juvenile filly on dirt and turf in 2011 and looked OK in 2012 as well. She had just three starts in 2013 - a great win in the Grade 2 Churchill Distaff Turf Mile, another impressive score in the 2013 Grade 1 Just a Game Stakes and a third in July in the 2013 Dania Beach Stakes. Stephanie's Kitten had six starts in 2014 and looked very good toward the end - a second in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf followed a win in the 2014 Flower Bowl Stakes and consecutive runner-up finishes - the Grade 1 Beverely D Stakes included. Stephanie's Kitten has just four starts this year - a second last time out in the Grade 1 Beverly D. Stakes at Arlington August 15 followed a fifth in the Grade 1 Diana Stakes in July, a fourth as favorite in the Grade 2 New York Stakes June 5 and a good 1 1/2 length win in the Grade 3 Hillsborough Stakes at Tampa Bay in March. She has two wins and four seconds in her last eight starts but has been just so-so this year. Curvy 2-1 - British bred David Wachman trained group 1 placed filly makes her anticipated North American debut Saturday off a close fourth in the group 1 Darley Yorkshire Oaks and a third in the group 1 Darley Irish Oaks two starts back. Before that was an impressive four race win streak - all this year including a group 2 and group 3 race. She has four wins and a third place finish in nine career starts - all of her on-the-board finishes coming in her last six starts overall. Wayne Lordan has been tabbed to ride this up-and-coming entry from gate 8 Saturday.

Watsdachances 5-1 - finished fourth in this race last year for trainer Chad Brown but has recorded two wins and a second place finish since. Last time out was one of those wins - in the Grade 1 Beverly D. Stakes after the DQ of her stablemate at Arlington August 15. Before that was a second in the Grade 2 Dance Smartly Stakes at Woodbine in July and a win in the Grade 3 Gallorette Handicap at Pimlico in May. Other career highlights include wins in the 2012 Grade 3 Miss Grillo Stakes, a second in the 2012 Breeders' Cup Juvenile and numerous runner-up finished in graded stakes action the last couple of years. She will be out for her third graded stakes score in her last four starts overall Saturday when she departs from post 5 with Joe Bravo in the irons.

Regardez 8-1 - British bred Chad Brown trained filly had two wins, three seconds and two third place finishes in 10 starts at home before shipping. She has four starts in North America - a third place finish in the Grade 3 Glens Fall Stakes at Saratoga August 5,an Allowance Optional Claiming score by an impressive five lengths on that same track August 12 and consecutive fourths in Allowance Optional Claiming races on this track. Regardez has been OK lately and hopes for a first graded stakes score from post 2 with Joel Rosario aboard.

Danza Cavallo 10-1 - French bred Chad Brown trained filly had three wins, three seconds and two third place finishes in 11 career starts at home and has been just OK in five starts in North America. She debuted here with a good second in the Grade 3 Long Island Handicap in November and followed that with an Allowance score at Keeneland in April. She has failed to place in her last three starts overall - an eight last time out in the Grade 2 Ballston Spa Stakes August 29 followed a tenth in the Fasig-Tipton Waya Stakes August 8 and a fifth in the Grade 1 Gamely Stakes at Santa Anita in May. Javier Castellano has been tabbed with changing Danza Cavallo's fortunes around from the outside post 10.

Mutatis Mutandis 12-1 - Irish bred Ed Walker trained filly makes her North American debut Saturday having recorded just three wins and two seconds in 16 career starts at home. She won two straight races at the beginning of the summer including a stakes race at Nottingham but has failed to place in her last three starts overall. Last time out was a fourth which followed an eighth and a sixth (all stakes races). Mutatis Mutandis looks to be in over her head in this one but has won stakes races at this distance in the past. She leaves from post 7 with John Velazquez guiding her.

America 15-1 - Bill Mott trained filly won three straight races this past winter - the best of which was the minor Affectionately Stakes at Aqueduct in January. She has placed in just one of four starts since - that being a third two starts back in the Grade 1 Delaware Handicap July 18. Before that was a fifth in the Grade 1 Fleur de Lis Handicap in June and a seventh in the Grade 1 La Troienne Stakes in May. Last time out was a fifth in the Grade 1 Personal Ensign Stakes at Saratoga August 29. She has placed in three of 11 graded stakes starts (all third place finishes) and will be in search of a huge breakthrough performance Saturday from gate 4 with Junior Alvarado aboard.

Distorted Beauty 20-1 - Bruce Levine trained filly has six wins, two seconds and a third place finish in 13 career starts and enters off an Allowance Optional Claiming score at Saratoga August 31. Before that was a fourth in a similar race August 5, an eighth in the Grade 2 Dr. James Penny Memorial Handicap July 4 and a third in the minor Intercontinental Stakes on this track in June. She has placed in three of her last four starts overall but looks to hit the board for the first time in graded stakes company. Jose Ortiz gets the call from post 9.

Tiz So Sweet 2-1 - Main Track Only Entry, Bill Mott trainee has just six career starts with three wins and a second place finish. Last time out was a second in the minor Summer Colony Stakes at Saratoga August 24 after an Allowance Optional Claiming score July 27 and a fifth in the Grade 1 Acorn Stakes on this track in June. Tiz So Sweet may be looking for her fist stakes score if she does indeed race - from gate 6 with a yet-to-be-determined jockey in the reins.

Rosalind 3/1 - Main Track Only Entry - Chad Brown trained filly has placed in nine of 17 career starts and may enter off a second in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Saratoga August 31. Before that was a fifth in the Grade 1 Delaware Handicap in July, a fourth in the Grade 1 Ogden Phipps Stakes June 6 and a terrific win in the Grade 2 Sheepshead Bay Stakes May 2. She won the Grade 1 Ashland Stakes in a dead heat in April, 2014 as well and did record a third after rallying from 16 lengths back in the 2013 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies but has struggled to find consistency since. Rosalind has placed in just two of her last five starts and is a bit tough to figure out ahead of this race. Jockey Joel Rosario hopes to change all that if Rosalind departs from post 3.
