Las Vegas, NV - Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland will be the center of the thoroughbred universe this upcoming weekend when the second jewel in the Triple Crown is run. There is a packed card Friday as well with the Grade 2 Black Eyed Susan Stakes a part of the festivities. Three year old fillies will be featured when they take to Pimlico's dirt track and go 1 1/8 miles for a purse of $250,000.
A field of nine have been confirmed for the Black-Eyed Susan - race 11 on Pimlico's stacked Friday card. Post time is 4:50 PM. Here is a look into the past performances of all nine entries for this intriguing Grade 2 stakes.
Luminance - Bob Baffert trained filly won her first two career starts - an Allowance Optional Claiming at Santa Anita February 28 and a maiden score at first asking way back in July. She has just one other career starts and it was a good one - a second behind Stellar Wind in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Oaks April 4. Luminance has improved every time out hand hopes to keep that tend going Friday with Martin Garcia aboard from gate 8.
Danessa Deluxe - has two wins and two seconds and a third place finish in six career starts for trainer Jorge Navarro and was last seen running a decent third in the Grade 2 Gulfstream Park Oaks March 28 which followed a fourth in the Grade 3 Delta Downs Princess Stakes November 22. Before that was a two race win streak - an Allowance Optional Claiming by 5 1/4 lengths at Gulfstream Park West October 29 and a maiden score October 3. She has been decent in her career and has been in there with some top fields but looks for a stakes breakthrough Friday from the rail with legendary jockey John Velazquez in the saddle.
Devine Aida - Ramon Morales trained filly enters off a disappointing fourth in the Grade 2 Gulfstream Park Oaks March 28 which followed four straight wins - the Herecomesthibride Stakes by 6 3/4 lengths at Gulfstream February 28 and followed the minor Ginger Brew Stakes by 3 1/2 lengths on January 3 included. Devine Aida now has four wins and a third place finish in six career starts and hopes to get back on the winning track Friday from post 7.
Ahh Chocolate - will hit the track for just the third time Friday after two career starts yielded two wins. Last time out was an Allowance score at Keeneland April 8 which followed a maiden score at first asking - at Fair Grounds in February. Ahh Chocolate looks to remain perfect when she departs from post 3 with Brian Joseph Hernandez in the irons.

Include Betty - Tom Proctor trained filly has eight career starts with three wins, a second and a third place finish and enters this week having won three of her last five races - the minor Suncoast Stakes January 31, a maiden score January 3 in her fourth career start and a terrific win in the Grade 3 Fantasy Stakes at Oaklawn Park April 4. Include Betty enters off a career worst effort however - an eighth in the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks May 1. She also had a fifth in the Grade 3 Florida Oaks. Include Betty will be looking for a strong bounceback and to return to her Fantasy Stakes form from post 5 with Drayden Van Dyke guiding her.
Sweetgrass - Ian Wilkes pupil has placed in all four career starts- two wins and two third place finishes. She races in stakes company for the first time Friday on the heels of two straight wins- an Allowance at Keeneland April 3 and a maiden score at Gulfstream March 1. Sweetgrass looks ready for her step up and will have Julien Leparoux aboard from gate 6 in her first start around two turns an first start past one mile.
Gypsy Judy - has placed in four of five career starts for trainer Robin Graham - two wins, a second and a third place finish. She makes her graded stakes debut Friday off a respectable third in the minor Caesar's Wish Stakes, a nice win in the minor Wide Country Stakes February 16 and a maiden score January 8 in her third career start. Gypsy Judy makes her graded stakes bow in decent form and departs from gate 4 with Horacio Karamanos in the reins.
Keen Pauline - Dale Romans trained filly races in stakes company for the first time Friday. She broke maiden in September in her second career start and has been OK since. Last time out was a fourth in an Allowance April 16 which followed a third and a second respectively in a pair of Allowance Optional Claiming races this past winter. Keen Pauline takes the step up in competition Friday from the outside post 9.
Pure - James Cassidy trained filly has seven career starts with a win, two seconds and a third place finish. She makes her stakes debut Friday after finally breaking maiden last time out - at Santa Anita April 10. Pure makes a huge step up in competition Friday when she leaves from gate 2 with Victor Espinoza aboard.
