American Oaks 2015 at Santa Anita Park

Las Vegas, NV - Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California will play host to the Grade 1 American Oaks on Saturday, May 30. Three year old fillies will be featured when they take to Santa Anita's turf track and race 1 1/4 miles for the winner's share of the $400,000 purse.

A field of seven sophomore fillies will give it a go in the American Oaks - race 5 on Santa Anita's Saturday card. Post time is 2:30 PM. Here is a peek into the past performances of all seven combatants for this Grade 1 stakes - all of which will be racing at 1 1/4 miles for the first time.

2015 American Oaks Race Favorite Entries

Consumer Credit - New York invader, Chad Brown trained filly has seven career starts with four wins and two second place finishes. She enters having won four of her last five starts - the minor Memories of Silver Stakes at Aqueduct April 23 and a three race win streak - by a length in the Grade 3 Sweetest Chant Stakes on this track in January, in the minor Wait a While Stakes by a dominant 3 3/4 lengths here November 29 and a maiden score by 2 1/4 lengths in her third career start. Two starts back was her only blemish in the last six months - a respectable second in the Grade 3 Florida Oaks March 7. She has looked terrific lately and looks like the one to catch Saturday. Flavien Prat has the mount from the outside post 7.

Spanish Queen - will race for the fourth time for trainer Richard Baltas having recorded two wins and a second place finish so far. She enters off a terrific 1 1/2 length win in the Grade 2 Honeymoon Stakes on this track May 3 which followed a good second, a neck back in the Grade 3 Providencia Stakes April 4 here and a maiden score at first asking also here March 5. Brice Blanc has been tabbed to keep the roll going from gate 2.

Strict Compliance - Chad Brown trained filly will make her stakes debut Saturday having posted two wins and a second place finish in three career starts. She enters off an Allowance score at Keeneland April 19 and a maiden score in March in her second career start. Strict Compliance will look to make it three straight wins in her step up in competition when she leaves from the rail with Rafael Bejarano in the saddle.

Feathered - Todd Pletcher trained filly has eight career starts already with two wins, two seconds and a third place finish. She enters off a career best effort - a gate-to-wire win in the Grade 3 Edgewood Stakes at Churchill Downs May 1 in her first start on turf after an ugly seventh in the Grade 3 Fantasy Stakes April 4, a fourth in an Allowance in March and a second behind champion Take Charge Brandi in the Grade 1 Starlet Stakes at Los Alamitos in December. She also had a respectable fourth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies. Feathered has placed in just one of her last three starts but that win last time out has to be a confidence booster. Tyler Baze will be in the saddle looking to make it two straight graded stakes scores - from gate 4.

Sharla Rae - Doug O'Neill trained filly has 10 career starts with four wins, a second and a third place finish. Last time out was a good second behind Spanish Queen in the Grade2 Honeymoon Stakes here May 3 after a respectable third in the Grade 3 Bourbonette Oaks March 21 at Turfway Park, a win in the minor California Stakes at Golden Gate February 7 and a pair of off-the-board finishes including a ninth in the Grade 3 Delta Downs Princess Stakes in November. She also had a win in the minor Pike Place Dancer Stakes in October at Golden Gate. Sharla Rae has a win, a second and a third place finish in her last three starts and looks decent ahead of this weekend. Drayden Van Dyke gets the call from post 5.

Mrs McDougal - has two wins in three career starts for trainer Chad Brown - a maiden score at first asking and an Allowance last time out by an impressive 7 1/4 lengths at Aqueduct April 24. She had a fourth in an Allowance Optional Claiming in March sandwiched in there. Mrs McDougal steps into stakes company for the first time in good form and departs from gate 6 with Gary Stevens aboard.

Dating Lady Luck - races in stakes company for the first time for trainer Albert Stall having raced three MSW races and improved every time out. Last time out she broke maiden at Keeneland April 23 after a second and a third respectively to start her career. Corey Nakatani has been tabbed to ride Dating Lady Luck in her huge step up in competition - from post 3.
