Las Vegas, NV - The Grade 2 Honeymoon Stakes is on tap for Santa Anita this Sunday, May 3. Three year old fillies will be featured when they take to Santa Anita's turf track and go 1 1/8 miles for a purse of $200,000.

The Honeymoon Stakes has attracted a competitive field of 10 to go in race 8 on Santa Anita's Sunday card. Post time is 4:00 PM. Here is a brief glance into the past performances of all eight combatants for this Grade 2 stakes.

2015 Honeymoon Stakes Race Favorite Entries

Spirit of Xian - Irish bred Richard Mandella trained filly has 10 career starts, eight of which came in Europe with three wins and two third place finishes. Last time out was quite a statement - a win after leading throughout in the Grade 3 Providencia Stakes April 4 which followed a game third in her North American debut - the minor Sweet Life Stakes here February 14. Spirit of Xian looks to keep the roll going when she departs from post 9 with Joe Talamo guiding her.

Singing Kitty - has won four of nine career starts for trainer Matthew Chew - three of her last five overall. She made his graded stakes debut April 4 and finished a disappointing fifth in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Oaks (a race that Stellar Wind won) April 4 which followed a two race win streak - the minor China Doll Stakes at 19-1 odds March 7 and the minor California Cup Oaks at 7-1 odds in January - both results on this track. Singing Kitty will be looking to rebound from an uncharacteristic performance from the outside post with Tyler Base aboard.

Sharla Rae - Doug O'Neill trained filly has nine career starts with four wins and a third place finish. Last time out was a respectable third in the Grade 3 Bourbonette Oaks March 21 at Turfway Park which followed a win in the minor California Stakes at Golden Gate February 7 and a pair of off-the-board finishes including a ninth in the Grade 3 Delta Downs Princess Stakes in November. She also had a win in the minor Pike Place Dancer Stakes in October at Golden Gate. Sharla Rae has a win and a third place finish in her last two starts and looks decent ahead of this weekend. Drayden Van Dyke gets the call from post 5.

Prize Exhibit - had eight starts in Europe for trainer James Cassidy and is group II placed in her native land. She debuted in North America with a decent fourth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies and went on to an Allowance Optional Claiming score here January 25. Last time out was a fourth in the Grade 3 Providencia Stakes April 4. Prize Exhibit has been OK in her three North American starts and looks for a breakthrough in stakes company from gate 6 with Mike Smith guiding her.

Lutine Belle - Jerry Hollendorfer trainee has won two of three races this past winter - the minor one mile Blue Norther Stakes on this track January 1 and an Allowance Optional Claiming at Golden Gate in October - with a respectable third in the minor Golden Gate Debutante Stakes in October sandwiched in there. She has failed to place in her last two starts however - an eighth last time out in the Grade 3 Providencia Stakes April 4 followed a fifth in the Grade 1 Las Virgenes Stakes January 31. Lutine Belle also had a seventh in the Grade 1 Chandelier Stakes here in September. She looks to rebound from a couple of disappointing efforts when she leaves from gate 4 with Corey Nakatani in the irons.

Havana Belle - Irish bred filly has a win, a second and a third place finish in eight career for trainer Phil D'Amato. She had all of her good results in Europe before shipping including a win at Bellewstown in September but has failed to place in her two starts in America. Last time out was a fifth in the Grade 3 Providencia Stakes April 4 after a fifth in the minor Sweet Life Stakes here February 14. She looks for her first decent result in North America when she departs from post 3 with Rafael Bejarano aboard.

Spanish Queen - will race for just the third time for trainer Richard Baltas having recorded a win and a second place finish so far. She enters off a good second in the Grade 3 Providencia Stakes April 4 on this track after a maiden score at first asking also here March 5.Brice Blanc has been tabbed to keep the upward trend going from gate 2.

Entrechat - Neil Drysdale trained filly hit the track for the fourth time off a respectable third in her graded stakes debut - the Grade 3 Providencia Stakes here April 4 after a maiden score in her second start and a second in her debut. Entrechat has improved every time out and looks to keep that trend going from gate 8 with Flavien Prat in the reins.

Star Via Strada - Jerry Hollendorfer trained filly makes her graded stakes debut Sunday having placed in six straight starts - the only off-the-board finish was in her debut. She enters on the heels of consecutive runner-up finishes in Allowance Optional Claiming races at Golden Gate after a third in the minor California Oaks February 7. Star Via Strada has been competitive every time out and looks ready for her graded stakes bow. Tiago Josue Pereira rides from post 7.

Screaming Skylar - Peter Miller trained filly has four career starts with a win and a third place finish. She makes her stakes debut Sunday after finally breaking maiden in her fourth career start - on this track April 4. She will have Victor Espinoza in the saddle in her step up from the rail.
