Royal Son - Todd Pletcher trained colt has five career starts with two wins and two second place finishes - his only off the board finish came in his only graded stakes action - the Grade 3 Sam F. Davis Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs January 31. He is coming off a terrific 5 1/4 length win in on this very track in the listed John Battaglia Memorial Stakes with a field best 103 BRIS Speed rating and he did have a maiden score three back - January 8 at Gulfstream Park. Royal Son has won two of his last three starts overall and will have Rodney Prescott in the saddle of the 7-2 morning line favorite from the rail.

Metaboss - Jeff Bonde trained colt made his graded stakes debut last time out and took down the Grade 3 El Camino Real Derby by 2 1/2 lengths after finally breaking maiden January - at Santa Anita January 4 in his fourth career start - both wins coming at this distance. Before that were a second in a MSW at Del Mar in November and an OK fourth in the minor Juvenile Turf Sprint Stakes at Santa Anita November 1. Metaboss has placed in four of five career starts and has improved every time out. He will try to keep an impressive run going from post 11 as the 4-1 second choice with Alex Solis in the reins.

Spiral Stakes 2015 | Remaining Contenders

Imperia - Kiaran McLaughlin trained colt won the Grade 3 Pilgrim Stakes at Belmont Park in September and went on to a tenth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf. He enters off a fifth in the Grade 2 Risen Star Stakes at Fair Grounds February 21 which followed a respectable second in the Grade 2 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes in November. Imperia has a win and a second in four career graded stakes starts but has been a tad inconsistent against top competition. Joel Rosario hopes to cure all of that at 4-1 odds from gate 6 Saturday - if he does indeed race.

Conquest Typhoon - Mark Casse pupil started his career with second place finishes in his first two races including minor Clarendon Stakes in July at Woodbine. He went on to a nice win in the Grade 2 Summer Stakes September, was second behind International Star in the Grade 2 Grey Stakes October 5 and finished a respectable fourth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf. Last time out was an OK third in the Grade 3 El Camino Real Derby at Golden Gate which followed his second graded stakes score - the Grade 3 Cecil B. DeMille Stakes at Del Mar November 30. Conquest Typhoon is the most experienced of all the entries, is listed at 5-1 on the morning line and should be in the mix Saturday although he is 0-for-3 on synthetic. Mike Smith has the mount from post 9.

Another Lemon Drop - Philip Bauer pupil has two wins, a second and a third place finish in six career starts. He enters off a respectable second as favorite in the listed Black Gold Stakes at Fair Grounds February 28, a fourth behind International Star in the Grade 4 LeComte Stakes January 17 and an Allowance Optional Claiming score December 19. Another Lemon Drop looks for his first stakes win in his first start in synthetic Saturday from post 5 with Drayden Van Dyke aboard. He is listed at 6-1 odds
