Las Vegas, NV - Woodbine in Toronto, Ontario will be the scene of the Grade 2 Kennedy Road Stakes on Sunday, November 22. Horses three years old and upward will be featured when they take to Woodbine's All Weather Track and dash seven furlongs searching for the winner's share of the $200,000 purse.
A field of 12 will give it a go in the Kennedy Road Stakes - race 8 on Woodbine's Saturday card. Post time is 4:00 PM. Calgary Cat 2-1 - last year's outstanding sprinter in Canada and defending champion in this race has been pretty good the last 18 months - eight wins, two seconds and a third place finish in 12 starts. He enters off a bit of a disappointment - a second in the Grade 3 Bold Venture Stakes on this track September 13. That followed two impressive minor stakes scores here - the Ontario Jockey Club Stakes in August and the Achievement Stakes in July. He had a bullet half-mile breeze in :47 flat Nov. 15 over the Woodbine main track and looks ready to go this weekend. Calgary Cat will be after his third graded stakes score on this track and a bounce back from a tough loss last time out from the outside post 12 with Eurico Rosa Da Silva scheduled to ride the morning line favorite.
Stacked Deck 4-1 - Barbara Mishall trained gelding finished sixth in this race last year and enters off a tenth place finish on the biggest stage - the Breeders' Cup Turf which followed a respectable third in the Grade 3 Woodford Stakes at Keeneland October 3 and a good win over Calgary Cat in the Grade 3 Bold Venture Stakes on this track September 13. He has six wins and three third place finishes in 16 career starts and has placed in five of his last seven starts overall and has won four of six career starts on Polytrack. He looks for his second graded stakes win in 10 weeks from post 5 Luis Contreras in the irons as the morning line second choice.
Bye Bye Bernie 6-1 - Brendan Walsh trained gelding has five wins, four seconds and five third place finishes in 25 career starts - two wins, a second and a third place finish in eight starts this year. He enters off a very good win at 22-1 odds in the Grade 2 Nearctic Stakes on this track October 18 which followed a third in the minor Kentucky Downs Turf Dash in September, a fifth in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Saratoga July 31 and an Allowance Optional Claiming score at Presque Isle Downs July 2. He has placed in three of his last four starts and will be after his second straight graded stakes score on this track when he leaves from post 3 with Rafael Manuel Hernandez aboard the third betting choice.
Summation Time 8-1 - Christophe Clement trained colt has three wins, three seconds and a third place finish in nine career starts. He enters on the heels of consecutive runner-up finishes - the Grade 2 Nearctic Stakes last time out on this track October 18 and the minor Troy Stakes at Saratoga August 22. He also won three straight races at this time last year. Summation Time has looked good in his career so far and will be after his first graded stakes win - from post 9 with Alan Garcia slated to ride.
Goodoldhockeygame 10-1 - has placed in nine of 11 career starts for trainer Robert Tiller - five wins and four second place finishes. He arrives in career best form - on a three race win streak all at Woodbine. Last time out was an Allowance score October 31 after a nice win in the minor Overskate Stakes September 19 and an Allowance Optional Claiming score August 26. He has been worse than second one time in the last seven starts - competitive virtually every time out. Patrick Husbands gets the mount from post 11.< /p>
Glenville Gardens 10-1 - Sid Attard trained gelding has four wins and two seconds in eight career starts but enters on a nice three race win streak all on this track. Last time out was in the minor Labeeb Stakes October 25 after an Allowance Optional Claiming score October 10 and a Claiming win in September. Glenville Gardens comes in hot and could be in the mix from gate 10 with Emma-Jayne Wilson in the irons.

Paso Doble 12-1 - has a whopping 50 career starts for trainer Mark Fournier with 12 wins, 12 seconds and eight third place finishes. He finished seventh in this race in 2010 and was sixth in this race in 2011 and has placed in two of three graded stakes tries since. He enters off a second in an Allowance here October 31, a seventh in the minor Shepperton Stakes here August 3, a fifth in the Karl Boyes Memorial Stakes at Presque Isle Downs in June and a decent win in the minor New Providence Stakes on this track in May. Paso Doble has been just OK lately and will be after his first graded stakes score from gate 2 Sunday with Justin Stein in the saddle.
Passion for Action 15-1 - has three wins, two seconds and as third place finish in nine career starts - the best result being a win in the minor Cup and Saucer Stakes here in October, 2014. He enters off a fourth in the Grade 2 Nearctic Stakes here October after an Allowance Optional Claiming score on this track in September and another fourth in the Grade 2 Play the King Stakes here in August. Passion for Action looks for his first graded stakes score Sunday in OK form - from post 7 with Omar Moreno in the reins.
Excaper 20-1 - Ian Black trainee finished second in the 2011 Breeders' Cup Juvenile but has failed to find any sort of traction since. He did win the Grade 2 Connaught Cup here in May, 2014 - the last time he tasted victory. He has placed in just one of his last seven start ahead of this weekend - that being a third in an Allowance Optional Claiming two starts back on this track. Last time out was a seventh in the Grade 2 Nearctic Stakes October 18 which followed the third and five straight off-the-board finishes in graded stakes action here. Excaper hasn't been great the last 11 months when she leaves from gate 8 with Gary Boulanger slated to ride.
Rexton 20-1 - has five wins, a second and four third place finishes in 24 career starts - not great but he did post a win in his stakes debut two starts back - the minor OLG Kenora Stakes on this track September 4. He followed that with a fourth in an Allowance last time out here October 31. Rexton has placed in just two of six starts this year (both wins) and steps up in company in so-so form. Jermaine Bridgmohan has been tabbed to ride from the rail.
Bear No Joke 20-1 - Reade Baker trained gelding has participated in this race three times - a second in 2012, a win in 2013 and a fourth in 2014. He has just one other stakes win. Bear No Joke enters in sketchy form having failed to place in six of his last seven starts overall. Last time out was a fourth in a Claiming after a decent second in the minor OLG Kenora Stakes September 2, a fourth in the minor Achievement Stakes in July and a fourth in an Allowance Optional Claiming in June. Overall he has 29 career starts with six wins, nine seconds and a third place finish but arrives not having won since the 2013 edition of this race. Jeffrey Ian Alderson will be in the reins from gate 4 Sunday hoping to change the fortunes around in Bear No Joke's favorite race.
Copperplate 20-1 - has just four wins and a second place finish in 17 career starts but enters on a two race win streak - an Allowance October 21 and an Optional Claiming September 30 - both results on this track. He makes his stakes debut having won three of his last four overall with David Moran guiding him from gate 6.
